Laminating Services
RAND Manufacturing’s laminating services support our precision die cutting and material converting capabilities. Along with release liners, we apply pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) to plastic or cellular rubber in roll or sheet form. We also work with heat-resistant materials.
PSA Adhesive Lamination
Adhesive lamination is the process of applying PSAs and release liners to substrates. These laminated materials or products can then be precision die cut into parts or converted through roll slitting. In addition to plastics, we work with engineering cellular products.
PSA Adhesive Types
There are are three main categories, or types, of pressure-sensitive adhesives: rubber-based, acrylic, and silicione.
Each of these systems has advantages and disadvantages, so ask RAND Manufacturing to help you choose the right PSA for your precision die cut parts. We can also work with you to select a PSA with the proper peel adhesion, tack, and shear.
PSA Release Liners
As part of our laminating services, RAND Manufacturing applies release liners that protect the PSA during precision die cutting, converting, and assembly. These liners control the PSA’s adhesive action until the die cut part is properly aligned and ready for assembly.
