Engineering Support MFG
RAND Manufacturing offers engineering support for your precision machining and die cutting projects. From design through delivery, and from prototyping to production, we’re ready to help you turn your ideas into reality.
Our team is like an extension of your engineering department. At a time when engineers are being asked to do more with less, and everything from skilled workers to raw materials seem to be in short supply, we’re on your side.
With our engineering support, we can help you answer questions like these.
- Can it be made?
- What’s the best way to fabricate it?
- What are the materials that could be used?
- Which material can optimize performance?
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Working with RAND early in the design process can help you to ensure that your parts and products are both manufacturable and manufacturing ready. We can also help you to minimize waste by maximizing material yields, something that’s especially important with more expensive materials. For example, parts nesting during precision machining or die cutting can help you to get more parts per sheet or roll of material.Â
Material Selection
The material selection process is becoming increasingly complicated. New products are introduced, standards continue to change, and engineers need to reduce costs and bring products to market more quickly. In fields like the medical industry, traceability is becoming increasingly important.
With LED lighting and electronics, materials may need to meet safety-related standards such as UL 94 V-0 for flammability. RAND can help you to balance trade-offs such as cost vs. performance and help you make the best choice for your application.
