Emergency Services and Rail
RAND PMC makes precision machined components for the rail and emergency services (vehicle upfitting) industries. Â
Rail Industry
RAND Manufacturing supplies die cut antenna gaskets used with positive train control (PTC), a digital data network that includes global positioning system (GPS) satellites, computers and controllers, throttle-brake interfaces, radio communications, and video, all of which depend upon wireless connectivity.
The large die cut antenna gaskets that RAND provides to a leading supplier of rail antennas are mounted atop trains and exposed to wind, weather, and other outdoor elements. These 5-ft. tall radio frequency (RFID) antennas need to attach securely and provide reliable sealing and insulation. RAND also supplies the antenna manufacturer with protective covers for magnets.
Emergency Services (Vehicle Upfitters)
RAND Manufacturing also makes lighting components and other parts that are used in police cars, municipal cars, and vehicles used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).Â
As light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used in more forms of emergency lighting, designers need to consider the effects of high temperatures upon circuits, sensors, and other electronic components.Â
