Solar Combiner Design
We have the best-engineered solar combiner box in the industry. Our linear component design and custom-fabricated enclosures take into consideration wire management, minimization of over-the-air transmission, arc suppression, and safety.
We work with our customers to create easy access and egress of lines and cables without bends and tension. As solar panels have evolved, there is a requirement for dual polarity fused protection. RAND PV makes this design a standard in all of our solar combiner box assemblies.
NEMA 4X Rated Enclosure
NEMA 4X rated enclosures are custom-fabricated using durable UV-resistant poly-coated steel and a fully grounded connection between the enclosure door, frame, and back panel with a urethane gasket seal on the enclosure door. The urethane compound is the best choice for a gasket because of its resistance to temperature, moisture, chemicals, and compression set.
UL Listed Solar DC Disconnect Switch 1500v @ 400a
The solar disconnect switch is manufactured with a patented arc-extinguishing chamber. RAND PV uses globally recognized manufactures of solar switches and fuse links.

Dual Polarity Protection: Fused Positive and Negative Incoming Lines
As solar panels are evolving, there is more of a requirement for dual polarity protection. That’s why the RAND PV solar combiner box has fused both the positive and the negative incoming lines. Our high-current ceramic fuse links with custom-designed holders are all UL approved for this application, and they come in a variety of amperage.
Safety Features for Solar Combiners
The RAND PV combiner has many safety features.
- The DC disconnect switch is manufactured with a patented design with arc-extinguishing chamber.
- The switch has a deeper mounting base keeping the suspended cables further away from the back plate which is a concern for electrical arcing.
- The enclosure is fully grounded to the frame.
- Both the positive and negative lines are routed through the Beny surge protector.
- An acrylic electrical arc shield is installed in front of the bus bars, wires and connectors.
